Many Subarus are American-made vehicles built in a Subaru plant in Indiana. Not only are they American made, they're also at the leading edge of green technology where manufacturing is concerned. The Indiana Subaru factory is a zero-landfill plant. Nothing from the entire building goes into the landfill and everything is used or recycled in the process of making Subarus—right down to the things used in the lunchroom.

IIHS has completed studies on vehicles with crash avoidance systems, like Subaru's EyeSight system. Out of all the crash avoidance systems, Subaru performed the best and was the only system that stopped vehicles completely before a crash at 25 mph.
