Is Subaru the New Volvo?



The Car Connection's has happy memories of Volvo 240 wagons, and sees a kinship between Subaru and Volvo in "safety, sensibility, and a somewhat offbeat sense of style."

But it's the 2014 Forester that really shows parallels, Halvorson says, as it extends Subaru's appeal beyond the Subaru niche market. It's outdoorsy, sure, but it's also a great city car. In comparing the two, Halvorson notes that the Forester is a lot zippier than the Volvo, but that the 240 has been featured in more movies.

Maybe that will change in the future.
