The question of, “which season is best?” often leads to high-intensity debates. You have the summer folks butting heads with the winter crowd, and the spring-ers jeering at the fall-ers. Nearly every season has something that you could complain about. Winter can be too cold, and ice can make roads dangerous. Summer can be too hot, and mosquitoes are just awful. Spring usually silences even the most crotchety bellyacher, but there are a few who can complain about all the spring rain. But, it’s hard to think of anything wrong with fall.

We’re not making the bold claim…

Every state has at least a special tree, bird, and flower that they claim as their own. For example, the state tree of Arkansas is the pine tree (pinus taeda), our state bird is the northern mockingbird, and our state flower is the apple blossom. Sometimes state symbols are chosen for historical reasons, and sometimes they’re decided by abundance. The latter is why you hear Subaru jokingly referred to as the state car of Colorado.

Colorado doesn’t actually have an official state car, but should they decide to choose one, Subaru would be a more than fitting choice…
