Convertible BRZ?

The BRZ was a combined effort between Subaru and Toyota but Subaru is the one with the final say since they actually manufacture the vehicles in their facilities. Toyota has been showing a concept car of the BRZ model as a convertible and it’s started to draw quite some attention. However much we might want a convertible, Subaru won’t be making one using the existing BRZ design. Why?

Subaru brand chief Yasuyuki Yoshinaga told reporters at the Tokyo Motor Show "Our engineering department told me that losing the entire roof requires a complete redesign of the structure. It…

2015 WRX or 2014 BRZ?

One car blogger has posed an intriguing question: if you had $30,000 to spend on any sports car you wanted, what would you buy? The author says that there are only two sports cars in that price range on the market right now that warrant attention, the 2014 BRZ and 2015 WRX.

But how do you decide between the two? In the end, the author decides he would buy a WRX because of the sheer practicality of the car when compared to the BRZ. The BRZ, he writes, is a more track-sport car but doesn’t meet all his…

Can you take any other car from a day at the rally track to a night out on the town with friends? Probably not—that flexibility is reserved for the new 2015 WRX. The new 2015 WRX was unveiled a few weeks ago at the LA Auto Show and we’re very pleased with the new Subaru's look and feel.

Subaru Listens

One of Subaru's strengths is listening.Subaru listens to what Subaru owners and reviewers have to say. That advice is put to good use to make things better. Some critics thought the Legacy’s Bluetooth connectivity and navigation system weren’t up to par in the previous version, so for the next Legacy, Subaru is making some changes.

At the LA Auto Show last month, Subaru highlighted the changes that will be on the way for the Legacy. The new Legacy will have more interior room with a slightly longer body for more back seat comfort and a stepped…

Subaru’s Indiana Plant Damaged by Tornadoes

On Monday, Subaru’s Indiana plant stopped operations to clean up damage done by storms that ravaged the area. The plant suffered roof damage, broken glass, blown debris, and water damage. Part of the roof even collapsed onto a few finished Subarus that will now have to be recycled. Fortunately, the damage is in mostly non-essential areas and Subaru’s plant has done a good job of making sure conditions are safe for workers. Many of the trees in the green area outside of the plant were damaged in the high winds.

Subaru will recover quickly and get back up…

Suba-roo: The Future of Cars?

Would you like something more adventurous than your current Subaru -- something less constrained? Consider the Suba-roo, a future form of transportation that resembles a mechanical kangaroo complete with tail, hopping humans around wherever they want to go. The Suba-roo is Subaru’s entry into the L.A. Auto Show’s design challenge, which this year asked automakers to look to nature for innovations in transportation.

The Suba-roo Active Lifestyle Partner is a “personal mobility vehicle” that aims to “change the man-vehicle relationship in a revolutionary way,” says Subaru. The L.A. Auto Show asked for entries for this year’s…
