Can you take any other car from a day at the rally track to
a night out on the town with friends? Probably not—that flexibility is
reserved for the new 2015 WRX. The new 2015 WRX was unveiled a few weeks ago at
the LA Auto Show and we’re very pleased with the new Subaru's look and
feel.
Under the hood, the 2015 WRX is everything a car lover could want. With a direct injected 2.0-liter Boxer four-cylinder engine, power has upgraded slightly to 268 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The 2015 WRX is available in six-speed manual or the new Sport Lineartronic continuously variable transmission (CVT) that is such a success in the new 2014 Forester.
In the manual, a viscous coupling locking center differential seamlessly splits power 50:50 to the front and rear and the CVT splits 45:55 for a sport feel without sacrificing with the CVT system. The most interesting thing about the sensors to send power to the wheels is the new torque-vectoring system that uses active braking to control power to the wheels when cornering.
The 2015 WRX has shaken off the interior styling of past WRX models with soft-touch materials, a flat-bottomed steering wheel, Bluetooth, a sunroof, a nine-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, and a push-button start system. Instead of having to sacrifice interior luxury for performance as with past WRX models, you can get everything you want.
The interior is also roomier and rear seats enjoy two more inches of legroom—which means you can pile your friends in the back for an exciting race around the rally track or a sporty drive to the woods.
Come in and test-drive a WRX as soon as we get them in because this is a new WRX you don’t want to miss.
