There was a celebration at the Subaru plant in Indiana as the first new 2015 Subaru Legacy rolled off the line. There's a multi-million dollar expansion going on at the zero-landfill plant, where the Impreza will soon be made. Subaru is increasing U.S. production as U.S. sales skyrocket.

And it's no wonder. The new Subaru models just keep getting better and better.

TopSpeed found the 2015 Legacy less quirky than the previous versions of the Legacy, but still true to its Subaru roots, with all-wheel drive, a sporty look, and the characteristic Boxer engine -- but quieter…

 

 

 

 

The Car Connection's Bengt Halvorson has happy memories of Volvo 240 wagons, and sees a kinship between Subaru and Volvo in "safety, sensibility, and a somewhat offbeat sense of style."

But it's the 2014 Forester that really shows parallels, Halvorson says, as it extends Subaru's appeal beyond the Subaru niche market. It's outdoorsy, sure, but it's also a great city car. In comparing the two, Halvorson notes that the Forester is a lot zippier than the Volvo, but that the 240 has been featured in more movies.

Maybe that will change in the future.

Adventures often stretch out for more than a day. Sleeping under the stars can be wonderful, but sometimes -- we're thinking about rainy weather, voracious mosquitoes, bears -- camping in your Subaru is even better.
