Here at Adventure Subaru, we are proud to represent the Subaru brand for many reasons. There’s a lot to love about Subaru, especially how dedicated the company is to supporting so many incredible causes both locally and nationally. For Subaru, and for us, it’s not just about selling vehicles. It’s about making the world a better place. As your local Subie dealer, you can always count on Adventure Subaru to keep that promise.

This month, we’re excited to be teamed up with the Ozark Literacy Council to encourage, inspire and invest in education for Subaru Loves Learning. Through Subaru Loves Learning, it is our goal to make the pursuit of knowledge available to as many minds as possible. We hope you will join us!

The Ozark Literacy Council (OLC) is a nonprofit that offers free English classes and tutoring to adults in Washington County. Their mission is to improve people’s lives by expanding and promoting literacy within the community.

The OLC provides four different levels (Basic, Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced) of one-on-one tutoring and classes in Adult Basic Literacy and English as a Second Language. These classes include curriculum in language, civic, financial, health and workforce literacy.

In 2017, OLC served 380 adults and helped many of them reach their goals. Those goals included finding a better job, reaching financial security, helping their children with their homework, increasing community involvement, and obtaining U.S. citizenship. Last year OLC had 140 volunteer tutors who offered their time to give students a chance to learn and improve reading, spelling, grammar, writing, pronunciation, and conversational English.

OLC serves individuals from 54 different countries around the world, including China, Taiwan, South Korea, Vietnam, Nepal, Russia, Serbia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Iraq, Iran, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Ecuador, El Salvador, Brasil, Colombia, Argentina, Cameroon, Gabon and Eritrea.

In partnership with the Ozark Literacy Council, Adventure Subaru is hosting a book drive through the month of August. All proceeds will go to OLC, in addition to a $2,000 donation from all of us here at Adventure Subaru.

Our team at Adventure Subaru has no doubt that our NWA neighbors will come together and make this Subaru Loves Learning event a huge success. We hope to see all of you as you come to check out the books and support our community!
