If you’re a thrill-seeker who loves a good adrenaline rush, you don’t have to venture out of Arkansas to get your thrills. There are plenty of exhilarating things to do right here in the Natural State! Check out our list of thrilling Arkansas escapades, then hop in your Subaru and get to your first adventure!

Skydiving

Arkansas has multiple skydiving locations, including one in Central Arkansas and one in Northwest Arkansas. The Northwest Arkansas organization is called Skyranch, and it offers a number of different jump options for everyone from beginners to skydiving experts. Go take a tandem jump, or sign up for a full course and jump solo!

Ziplining

There is certainly no shortage of zipline courses in Arkansas. You can take your pick of places — Hot Springs, Mountain View, Eureka Springs, Jasper… the list goes on. We love Ozark Mountain Ziplines in Eureka Springs, although you really can’t go wrong with any of them. Ozark Mountain Ziplines features 10 lines that take you soaring over the breathtaking Ozarks as high as 250 feet above the forest floor. Hang on!

Cavern Crawling

Entering the world of the underground is always a thrilling experience, and there’s no better place to do it than Blanchard Springs Caverns. The basic tours focus more on the beauty of the caves and the science behind them while sticking to an accessible path. Some tours are more challenging, though, and even require you to get down-and-dirty in tight spaces and underdeveloped sections of the caves. Perfect for adrenaline junkies and adventurers!

River Rafting

The beautiful Buffalo River has so much to offer, it feels silly to even try to narrow it down. You might know it as a place of chill activities like camping, floating and casually swimming with the squad. It certainly has a lot to offer on the chill side of things, but it has a lot to offer on the thrill side too. You can go on an intrepid hike, chase some waterfalls, or go cliff jumping, to name a few.

Ghost Hunting

If you tend to seek out a different kind of thrill, maybe some of Arkansas’ paranormal activities are more up your alley. Arkansas has a rich history of culture, so it’s only natural that there would be quite a few paranormal tales that come along with that. If you want to experience some of the ghostly activity for yourself, go stay at “America’s Most Haunted Hotel”, the Crescent Hotel, in Eureka Springs. Actually, just hang out in Eureka Springs and let that be the first spot you hit. You can go on ghost tours in a number of different locations there, including a general ghost tour of the town. Of course, Eureka Springs isn’t the only place to get your ghost fix. You can chase after the mysterious light in the woods of Gurdon, or explore the old arsenal at the MacArthur Museum of Military History in Little Rock.

Hang Gliding

For any hang gliding enthusiasts out there, we have the perfect spot for you. High above the Petit Jean River Valley and the Arkansas River Valley, Mount Magazine sits at the highest peak in Arkansas. The peak is about 2,753 feet, and it offers nearly perfect conditions for flight. When the weather is right, head to the park and take the jump of a lifetime.

Of course, the first thing you need to do before you pursue all these incredible Arkansas adventures is to make sure you have the right vehicle for it! There’s no better car for getting your thrills than a Subaru, and there’s no better place to get one than Adventure Subaru in Fayetteville.
