As you've probably heard, Bikes Blues and Barbeque started up again this week. The roar in the air has been gradually building all week long, and it will culminate this weekend as bikers from all 50 states come to celebrate the 16th annual BBB rally. While many people look forward to the excitement and commotion that surrounds the largest charity motorcycle rally in the United States, many locals are a little less enthused. Last year’s rally brought in over 400,000 people, and some folks just can’t handle the noise, or the traffic.

If you fall into the latter category, you might be looking to escape the festivities and get out in nature this weekend. Luckily, the Ozarks have plenty to offer to outdoor enthusiasts. Here are a few things you can do in your Subaru this weekend.

  • Go camping. This is the best way to escape the rumbling streets of Fayetteville this weekend. Find a nice campsite and enjoy some peace and quiet for a few days while things die down in town. Hike in for a more remote camping experience or pull right up to a car camping site. You can even take car camping to a literal level by sleeping in your Subaru instead of setting up a tent.
  • Go paddling. Many of the rivers in the area are too low to float, but there are still plenty of lakes, and deep sections of river that are perfect for a canoe or kayak. If your Subaru is equipped with a roof rack, you should have no trouble getting your boats out to some water.
  • Go hiking. The great thing about hiking is that you don’t really need any special gear or know-how. Just find a trail and start walking. Subaru’s Symmetrical AWD makes it possible for you to reach those trailheads that other cars can’t reach.
  • Go mountain biking. Throw your bikes on your rack, or fold down your seats and load your bike into your Subaru, and head for the hills! The Ozarks have some great mountain biking trails, and the temperatures this weekend will be perfect for a ride!
