Are Subaru drivers better pet owners? The car you drive probably doesn't affect your capabilities as a pet owner. But if vehicle ownership somehow translated into pet ownership, nearly every pet owner would be driving a Subaru. It’s been reported that almost 7 out of 10 people who own a Subaru also own a pet.

Subaru owners have long been identified as pet owners, and for good reason. Whether your dog loves the wilderness and you need a vehicle with off-road capabilities, or you need fold-down seats to transport your pet around town, Subarus are perfect for pet owners.

However it's more than just Subaru’s design that draws pet owners. Over the years, Subaru has partnered with organizations that look to do good for pets.

Subaru partnered with The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals back in 2008. Since the partnership, Subaru has donated more than $11 million dollars to the organization and affected the lives of over 10,000 animals.

Safety is important for every member of your family, including your pet. Subaru teamed up with the Center for Pet Safety to set up a crash test for pet safety products. Currently, there's no established guideline for pet carrier safety, but Subaru and the CPS are working together to set a standard.

Adventure Subaru is teaming up with the Animal League of Washington County on Saturday, October 3rd for a pet adoption event. Join us at the Lester C. Howick Animal Shelter from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. for half-price adoption fees, giveaways, and complimentary refreshments.

According to DoSomething.org almost 7.6 million companion animals enter shelters each year, and close to 2.7 million cats and dogs are euthanized due to overcrowding in animal shelters. Adopting a pet will not only add a loving member to your family, but it could also help save a life!
