Subaru's popular Drive magazine posted a Spring 2015 article called “Canine Couture” on their website. The article featured cute dogs dressed in silly Subaru outfits, so needless to say it was pretty great.
The dog models were all rescues from Canine Cupids Rescue, and they certainly weren't camera shy! A dozen different dogs, all clad in Subaru attire, show us that some canines may have bigger aspirations than simply being a wonderful and loyal best friend. There's the business dog, the DJ dog, the surfer dog, and the Kentucky Derby dog, just to name a few. One thing is certain, though, no matter what a dog's dream profession, they all have a thing for a Subaru.
Some Subaru-loving dog owners may be dismayed to hear that Subaru doesn't actually make costumes and outfits for dogs. The stylish dog apparel from “Canine Couture” was whipped up in the mind of clothing designer Jennifer Weidman specifically for the shoot. However, while you can't purchase these costumes, they were all fashioned out of Subaru accessories and a little creativity.
The tie for the business dog was made out of Subaru’s classic blue dog bandana. The DJ dog’s turntables were Subaru Dog-Safe Flyers. There was even a doggy bow tie made out of a Subaru Bag Dispenser with Carabiner. The article encouraged dog owners to “buy some cool Subaru Gear and assemble your own ensemble”.
Your dog may be a total ham, and love the thought of playing dress up, but many dog owners know that their furry friend would feel somehow betrayed if forced to wear a bowl on his or her head. For those of you with dogs who appreciate more traditional dog accessories, Subaru makes plenty of those. You can find everything from leashes to collars to collapsible water bowls that will show just how much your dog loves riding in your Subaru!
