The XV Crosstrek has been a big hit here in the U.S. It’s got just the right amount of horsepower and Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive to tackle steep climbs, enough cargo space to carry all of your gear, and good gas mileage to keep you from spending half of your trip filling up at gas stations. What more could you possibly want in an adventure rig? Well, maybe a slick coat of paint and a few more whistles.
The new XV Crosstrek Special Edition builds upon the already wonderful Crosstrek 2.0i Premium trim by boasting a few choice embellishments. The special edition Crosstrek will feature a powered moonroof, to really let you soak in the sky. If you like open roads and sleeping under the stars, you will love a moonroof. The new special edition will also be sporting blackened headlight bezels. Think of these as sunglasses for your car, significantly upping the cool factor.
Moonroofs and headlights are cool and all, but neither one is the first thing you would notice if you spotted the new Crosstrek rolling down the road. The XV Crosstrek Special Edition will be wearing a new and exclusive Sunrise Yellow paint job. To say that this color pops is an understatement. While everyone else is driving around in cars that are varying shade of brown and gray, special edition Crosstrek owners will be shining in a unique color that can be seen from space.
All of the other specs match the 2.0i Premium, meaning that you still get AWD and a 148 horsepower boxer engine.
Subaru is doing a very limited run of this special edition. Only 1,000 models will be released, making the special edition truly special. Expect to see these brilliant crossovers in the spring, but if you're looking to buy one, don’t expect them to last long.
