There’s no question that people love Foresters. They’re big enough to fit all of your camping gear yet small enough that you don’t feel like you’re driving a boat down the middle of the road. You can drive them just about anywhere in nearly any conditions. They’re fuel efficient, safe, and reliable. It's hard to think of anything that the Forester is lacking. But what if they were just a little sportier?

Subaru is king of the rally circuit, something they have proven time and time again with the WRX and STI. For years Subaru has been beating records and turning heads with their deceptively fast Impreza variations. In a chocolate and peanut butter moment, someone at Subaru thought, “What if we combined all the awesomeness of a Forester with the sportiness of an STI?”

Subaru unveiled the Forester STI tS at the most recent SuperGT race in Japan. At the moment the super sporty Forester is merely a concept. Subaru is hoping to gauge customer interest in the vehicle before they commit to producing it.

Since the Forester STI tS is just a concept car nothing was mentioned about the engine specs or performance of the vehicle. However, there were some noticeable physical changes.

They demoed the concept car with a World Rally Blue paint job with STIs classic Cherry Blossom Red accents on the grill, badges, and rear bumper. They totally redesigned the bumpers and added a blacked out grill to give the new Forester that rally look. In addition to the new lines, the Forrester STI sT features dual exhaust and a lowered suspension.

The interior wasn’t shown off since the vehicle is still in the development stages. However a few sneaks revealed a leather steering wheel and gear knob, that same Cherry Blossom Red accenting, and carbon fiber trim.

This new Forester won’t be ready for quite a while if it ever even makes it to production, but the thought of a souped-up Forester is very exciting!
