What would happen if you raced a Subaru WRX STI against a ticking time bomb? Okay—we should preface this by saying that it’s a mini WRX STI remote controlled car and the “bomb” is a stick bomb that acts like dominos. But we still think it’s a lot of fun! Watch the video below to find out if Subaru’s WRX STI can beat the clock:

While we’re sure that a full-size WRX STI could beat this stick bomb, it’s fun to watch the toy giving it a shot. The video was made with thousands and thousands of sticks, assembled by a skilled team and held into place until the last moment. While it looks like the video was filmed using one long shot, the truth is that they broke it down into segments. It took them three days to film this short video with very few breaks in between.

They also didn’t always get it right on the first try or even the second. Sometimes the sticks didn’t explode correctly and other times the Subaru remote controlled car didn’t get into the shot the right way or had trouble navigating the obstacles. But what you will see is that the shots of exploding sticks are real. If you want to go behind the scenes, there’s a second video that shows how the first was made:

We don’t expect you to try to squeeze into this tiny Subaru WRX STI but if you’d like to take one for a test drive, we have human sized Subarus ready to take for a spin
