Bucky Lasek has teamed up again with DoubleURXXX Productions to make a short grind-house style film about a country girl who falls in love with a mysterious drifter and his Subaru WRX. It quickly turns into a winner-take-all contest featuring her sherriff father. It's a little ridiculous and a lot over the top, and it's also a lot of fun. They’ve launched a website and trailer for the short film:
DoubleURXXX is the "barely housebroken child" of Subaru and if
you aren’t a teenager any more but still like to drive like one, you’ll
definitely want to keep your eyes on what they’re up to. If you eat power
slides for breakfast, use j-turns to parallel park, and donuts are your
favorite snack, DoubleURXXX was made just for you.
Bucky Lasek isn’t a stranger to making short films. He acted
in Tony Hawk’s The End and while it
wasn’t a powerful, earth shattering performance, it’s worth watching. He even
hired David Hasselhoff—the Hoff himself—to beef up his acting abilities for The Ride of Her Life with DoubleURXXX.
Last year Bucky was voted driver of the year by his peers in Global RallyCross, and that’s a high honor. Not only is he working his
way up the food chain in competition, he’s doing all he can to help promote the
sport of RallyCross and turn Subaru enthusiasts into RallyCross enthusiasts. We
can’t wait to see what he’s got up his sleeves for the rest of year and how
he’ll do in this year’s GRC rankings.
