We’ve had a bit of winter weather here in Northwest Arkansas. With plummeting temperatures and snowfall, getting where you need to go isn’t easy, especially if that involves a hill or two. In much of Northwest Arkansas, getting anywhere means driving up and down hills. Go to any hill on a bad weather day and you’ll spot at least one car that can’t make it up or someone who ended up in a ditch. Why is that?

The cars you see stuck on the side of the road in snow weren’t up to the challenge. In the Crossover Challenge, we found that Subaru could easily make it up a simulated wet hill but that many other popular models couldn’t even with experts behind the wheel. Add snow and ice and many other vehicles just can't make it up our hills, no matter how great a driver you are.

Not that great a driver? When it comes to winter weather, many of us in Northwest Arkansas have limited experience. That makes it even easier to face problems when you drive in snowy weather.

Subarus are most popular in snowy regions for a reason—they’ve stood the test of many a snowy winter. They provide the best all-wheel drive on the market at a competitive price, even when you compare them with cars that can't handle winter driving as well. Their gas mileage stands up to a comparison with other vehicles, too -- even those that don’t have all-wheel drive demanding more power. Subarus are more efficient vehicles.

Does a Subaru's prowess in the snow really matter when days of snow and ice are rare in Northwest Arkansas? What about torrential rains during the rest of the year? Rain can cause as many problems as snow and ice for driving conditions and we see plenty of rainy days in Northwest Arkansas. Add in rough roads not far outside the towns and you'll be glad you chose a Subaru.

Fortunately, you don't sacrifice performance, style, or comfort when you choose a Subaru. Come to Adventure Subaru and try one out.
