Subaru is adding a second Rally America team member to
battle alongside David Higgins and Craig Drew as they work to defend the Subaru National
Championship title. Travis Pastrana is joining Subaru for this season on their
Rally America team and will drive with the Subaru team in the X Games. With
rally starting back up again in the New Year with the first event in just a few
weeks at the Sno*Drift Rally in Michigan, it’s nice to see a familiar face on
the team.
Travis Pastrana drove for Subaru years ago, at the start of his career in 2004. He went on to win four straight titles between 2006 and 2010 and to claim the National Championship title for Subaru. He left Subaru’s rally team in 2011 and David Higgins took his place as driver on the team. You could say that this year will be the first time that almost all of the Subaru drivers are back together on the same team.
Pastrana is a star in the motosports arena, not just in rally car racing. He has also represented other sponsors and even the United States in numerous motorcross events as well as rally driving.
Pastrana’s history isn’t one to be scoffed at—with four consecutive wins, he dominates with the most consecutive wins in Rally America history, a title that David Higgins has his own sights set on with three consecutive wins under his belt. We’re proud to welcome Pastrana back to the Subaru Rally Team USA and expect great things this year as he builds up a relationship with his rally car and co-driver, who has yet to be announced.
Rally America action resumes at the end of the month with
David Higgins and Craig Drew at the Sno*Drift rally on January 24-25. Travis
Pastrana will join in on the rally action at the 100 Acre Wood Rally in
Missouri February 21-22.
