Subaru breaking records is nothing new. From setting rally car speed records to raking in awards for safety awards, records just seem to tumble. That’s probably why Subaru is also setting records for huge sales in the United States.
Last month was Subaru’s best November to date for U.S. sales. More than 45,000 Subaru vehicles were sold which is nearly 25% more than November from last year. Outdoing previous sales is always something to be excited about. But what’s truly exciting is that Subaru’s streak of outdoing previous month sales is now at a whopping 36 months! That’s a full three years of month-over-month sales in the United States!
Overall sales for November were up, but Subaru set some records for sales on individual vehicles as well. 14,128 Outbacks were sold along with 13,879 Foresters and 2,700 WRX/STI. Those were all record numbers, but maybe most impressive were Legacy sales which reached 5,733 – a 97 percent increase!
There have been over 20,000 WRX/STI sold so far this year. The last time there were this many WRX/STI vehicles sold was 2003!
It’s suggested that lowering gas prices have played a big role in the recent influx of automobile purchases. December is typically the biggest month for the auto industry, so we could see even more record numbers before the year is through.
Last year, Subaru sold 424, 683 vehicles, which was the most ever in a single year. The company reached that number on November 8th of this year, meaning the record was broken with nearly two months left to go! At this rate, Subaru should have no problem clearing 500,00 vehicles sold in 2014.
The “Share the Love” event is going on now through January 2nd. Subaru will donate $250 dollars to a charity with the purchase or leasing of any new Subaru!
