Yesterday at the New York Auto Show, Subaru revealed the
sixth generation in the Outback model, continuing the history of the Outback
that started twenty years earlier in 1994 at the same auto show. The all-new
2015 Subaru Outback brings new high ground to the Subaru brand, bringing the
off-road, rugged Subaru powerhouse into a new age of refinement and comfort
while still staying true to its roots.
The most noticeable changes to the 2015 Subaru Outback are in the interior. As with many of the other redesigns, you’ll find more interior room in the 2015 Outback as well as a more luxurious leather interior with a more intuitive infotainment system. The inside is still as rugged as ever, however, ready to take whatever you throw at it with your kids, your dogs, or your groceries. As well as leather interiors, both front and rear seats are heated and rear passengers have access to their own climate controls. The interior is also quieter than past Outback models for a smooth and comfortable ride.
On the outside, the silhouette has received a nice update with a sleeker, faster design that speaks to the Outback’s redesigned interior. There’s also a slimmer column profile for the windshield, opening up visibility without sacrificing safety. The EyeSight system has been updated for the Outback with additional features and color cameras for improved performance.
There's also new tech in the Outback on top of the improved EyeSight system with an active grill shutter for better fuel efficiency, torque vectoring for quicker and more agile steering, and split all-wheel drive for maximum capability.
Under the hood you’ll find a 175-horsepower 4-cylinder
engine or upgrade to a 265-horsepower 6-cylinder engine, both with Subaru's
efficient and easy to use Lineartronic CVT transmission system.
