This episode starts off with a very infectious smile from Sverre Isachsen that you can't help but smile along with. When we last left Isachsen, he was upset after being hit from behind by Ken Block and losing a race because of the illegal move. We're now with the Subaru Puma RallyCross team in LA for the X Games and the biggest event of the year. A win here would put Subaru on the map as a force to be reckoned with in the future and as a payoff for all the hard work the team's been doing over the last two years. This time, there's something to celebrate and Isachsen just can't stop grinning. Watch to find out:
Our Viking Warrior, or big teddy bear, has now set a record
for Subaru RallyCross, taking home the first medal after two years of work.
It's a big win for the whole team, not just Isachsen.
The part we love the most of this episode is in the final
seconds of the X Games race that puts Isachsen on the podium-when the Subaru
beats out another car that just isn't as strong a finisher as Isachsen's car.
While these Subarus are highly specialized and look little like a Subaru you
could buy stock, the foundations of the car are still rooted in the Subaru
design. And that's where Subarus just excel over the competition.
David Higgins and his crew saw a little disappointment to
end the race in Maine, coming in second after their rival, Ken Block. But even
with the loss, Higgins and his team are still on top for championship points.
We're looking forward to Subaru's Rally USA team taking the National Rally
Championship again this year.
If you haven't watched past episodes of Launch Control, be
sure to catch up and enjoy the action. It's as addicting as owning a Subaru!
