This year Consumer Reports rated Subaru at number 2 for their whole lineup compared to all other car manufacturer's lineups. Second only to a top of the line car manufacturer whose lineup comes with a very hefty price tag, Consumer Reports says that Subarus are "simple, dependable and efficient cars but they're often noisy."

While Subaru's unique engine makes a different noise from other engines, if you're looking for a car that will last you for years, a Subaru is your best bet.

So what's the cause of Subaru's special sound? It comes down to the use of a Boxer engine. The firing pattern of a Boxer engine is different from that of the engine most car manufacturers use.

Is it "noisy"? Most Subaru owners don't think so -- and many prefer the sound of a Subaru. Come and try it for yourself and see what you think.
