A new Subaru for 2015 was spotted roaming around -- car aficionados think it might be a 2015 Outback.
You can look at photos of the mysterious car at Left Lane News,
Automotive,
and Carscoop. Carscoop seems to think it's a Legacy. At one time the Outback was combined with the Legacy name, which might be causing the confusion there.
So why are people so excited about the 2015 mystery car?
Every 5 years, Subaru redesigns each model of their offerings. Forester was
just newly redesigned for 2014, so now it's time for
the next redesign, and it's the Outback's turn.
The mystery car
spotted zooming around on the test drive has less clunky styling and looks
more like a conventional SUV than the current Outback's styling. But don't think that it has lost its Subaru distinctiveness. It still stands out in
the crowd as a Subaru.
The trends shown in the Forester's redesign give us clues
about the direction Subaru will be taking for the next few years or so. We can
expect sleeker designs and more rounded corners on Subaru bodies, rather than the older
boxy Subaru look. Beefy roof racks are still a trend, with new easier to use roof
rack systems to take the hassle out of putting your kayak on the top of your
car.
We're betting that the new Outback will still have all the features that
make a Subaru a Subaru, including the new version of the boxer engine found
in the Forester and Outback starting in 2010 and the traditional all-wheel
drive offerings.
We can't wait to see the new 2015 Outback unveiled at the
Detroit Auto Show in January early next year, the auto show where most people are
predicting that this Outback will make its debut. It's a good time to decide
if you want to wait till the new Outback is unveiled or if you want a 2014
Outback before changes are made to an already great vehicle.
