Edmunds.com just released their review of the 2014 Subaru
Outback and they have great things to say about the little car that can.
"Ultimately, the 2014 Subaru Outback is a
pretty unique vehicle and if you have an adventurous spirit, we recommend it
highly," say the Edmunds' reviewers. We couldn't agree with them more! The
2014 Outback is the perfect vehicle for off-roading to get to adventure,
wherever it might take you.
In the review,
Edmunds writes that the 2014 Outback excels where other crossovers and wagons
don't, like in acceleration tests where the 3.6-liter model accelerated from "zero
to 60 mph in 7.3 seconds, a strong time for a six-cylinder-powered crossover or
wagon." The redesigned and stiffened structure also gives the Outback and "very
forgiving ride" and makes it perfect for long car rides to adventure.
In addition to getting up to highway speeds quickly and safety and having a comfortable ride,
the added interior room is a bonus that drives the Subaru to the top of the
pack. Edmunds comments, "Even rear seat passengers now enjoy excellent headroom
and legroom. The rear seatbacks also recline for greater comfort." And loading
up gear is much easier than other comparable SUVs and crossovers because of the
shorter height as well as the innovative roof rack that makes loading up gear a
breeze.
The standard
all-wheel drive also makes it a natural for off-roading with 8.7 inches of
ground clearance. Edmunds notes that you can't take on the rock-crawling specialized
SUVs with an Outback but that doesn't matter much because of the other strong
offerings and that people who want vehicles to rock-crawl buy specialized ones
instead of an all-around vehicle like the Outback.
And the Outback is just
that, the perfect all-around all-wheel drive vehicle that has a comfortable
ride for all passengers and all your gear.
