Subaru is dedicated to environmental responsibility, from the design of Subaru vehicles to the dealers who sell them.
Subaru works to keep fuel efficiency high and emissions low. Subaru is currently working on auto designs that make it easier to recycle the materials used, after they've been on the road for as long as possible. And the processes at Subaru plants and dealerships are so eco-friendly that we've become a leader for other companies, sharing what we've learned with other manufacturers so we can all look forward to a healthier planet.
Subaru engines are designed to reduce emissions in general -- evaporative emissions are down to zero in new Subarus, meeting not only national standards, but also California's stricter standards. Some of our models are especially green. The Legacy, for example, is an EPA SmartWay certified vehicle. The Forester, Legacy, and Outback are all certified PZEV (Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle) models.
