Every year, thousands of dogs are sent to shelters in hopes that they will be adopted. Unfortunately, many areas have far more dogs seeking owners than people seeking dogs. This can be a particular problem in rural areas where there is little foot traffic at shelters. At the same time, there are shelters in other areas where pets are adopted quickly because of high demand for four-legged friends.
Subaru helps provide resources needed to transport dogs
from crowded rural shelters to more populous areas where the dogs are more likely to find families.
Moving 500 dogs is a huge endeavor and one that Subaru is
proud to have a paw in. You can watch the video below to learn about the Pilots
and Paws program and how Subaru helps pilots transport hundreds of dogs to new homes every year.
Without the help of organizations like Pilots and Paws, dogs
can’t travel thousands of miles to find a family to care of them. Subaru is
committed to helping animals across the country find healthy and happy lives in
families and this is just one of many programs Subau works with -- with your help.
If you’ve been considering buying a Subaru, don’t forget
that the Share the Love event is going on right now. When you purchase a new
Subaru, Subaru will donate $250 to charities like the ASPCA. Nearly seven out of ten Subaru owners
have a pet, and Subaru knows just how important it is to support our furry friends
and find them homes. Since 2008, Subaru has donated over $5.6 million to the
ASPCA, including programs that help support the efforts of animal welfare and
adoption experts.
