We're back with another episode of Launch Control, the Subaru series that's following the trials and triumphs of Subaru's Rally and RallyCross drivers throughout the season this year. Episode 9 focuses on Subaru's three RallyCross drivers in Loudon, New Hampshire. This time it's all about small victories for the team as they push their cars to the maximum to get towards the podium for the first time this season.

Dave Mirra showed a strong start but huge troubles with his car took him out the race. Although these cars are Subarus, they have completely customized every inch of each vehicle, changing out stock parts for premium competition level gear. That also means when there's a break, it takes a lot of really specialized work to put it back together. Due to the high speeds at which they're driving their cars and the rough terrain and obstacles they have to maneuver through, these specialized Subarus go through a beating and have to be extensively repaired after ever run. But no one could have anticipated the amount of damage on Mirra's car -- it took him out of the running. Subaru's team is still to be commended on fixing major part malfunctions in 25 minutes.

Bucky Lasek and Sverre Isachsen, the two other drivers for Subaru, drove their cars as hard as they could to get close to the top, coming in 8th and 6th respectively. While it wasn't quite enough, we know that Team Subaru will be working hard on their cars to get them to work better so the drivers can beat out the competition.

The amount of research and development that goes into these specialized is staggering and the timeline they do it all in is something to be really admired. That's why Subaru sponsors these teams-there's no better test for the basics of your car's mechanics than to put it through the toughest tests out there.
