We all know Subarus are great cars to purchase because they're dependable, safe, and a good value. But did you know that Subaru has been beating out the competition throughout our history? A recently throwback review pitted the 2011 Subaru Forester against another 2011 crossover and the Subaru came out on top for both off-road driving and on-road driving. Watch the video below to see the review of the older models:

This review was originally done when the 2011 Subaru was brand new, pitting it against another brand new crossover. Without fail, the Subaru comes out on top as the better car.

So why does this matter for a new 2014 Subaru Forester? The main complaint about the older Subaru model was that the engine didn't have a transmission to do the turbo justice with only 4 speeds. Today's 2014 Forester now has 6-speed manual transmission and 8-speed for automatic with the Lineartronic CVT as well as manual mode. With the new redesign, Subaru listened to complaints about the transmission and change it for the better, allowing more range in power and the ability to most efficiently use the full range of the engine without limiting it.   In the above review, the Subaru is deemed the safer, less presumptuous, and more fun crossover SUV to drive and that hasn't changed with the new 2014 Forester model. Instead, Subaru only improved on the Forester with the redesign.

Making the decision to buy a new or pre-owned Forester Subaru comes down to whether you want a Subaru with the latest improvements or if you want to save some money and forego some of the improvements. Either way, however, you can be sure you're getting a great vehicle.

We have certified pre-owned Subarus in stock that come with assurance that the Subaru meets strict specifications. Come in for a test drive and see if a new model is a better choice for you or if you'd prefer to save on a pre-owned vehicle.
