The sales from this past April put Subaru of America at 41 consecutive months of year-over-year growth. That's nearly three and a half straight years of increasing sales! As impressive as a streak like that is, it makes you wonder - when will that streak end?

This year's April sales totaled 47, 241 vehicles, which is 18% higher than the number of sales in April of 2014. Most vehicles in the Subaru lineup saw an increase in sales, except for the Impreza and BRZ, however, Outback and Forester sales carried most of the weight.

Both the Subaru Outback and Subaru Forester sold over 10,000 units. That made it the 14th consecutive month for 10,000 Outbacks to be sold and the 21st consecutive month for the Forester to reach the 10K mark.  The two vehicles combined to sell over 26,000 units, which is more than half of all Subarus sold in April.

Legacy sales didn't see the same volume as the Outback or the Forester; however, the mid-size car did see the highest percentage increase in year-over-year sales. The Legacy continues to surge in popularity as year-to-date sales are up almost 70% over last YTD.

But it's not just the Legacy that is gaining popularity in the U.S. The entire brand is in high demand, which is why the company has announced plans to increase production. It's not just by chance or fluke that Subaru has outdone itself for 41 consecutive months. People love the safety, performance, longevity, reliability, and value that come with a Subaru.

There's really no telling just how long Subaru can keep the sales record going. You would think that numbers would start to level off at a certain point, although you would have expected that to happen well before the three and a half year mark. It will be interesting to see just how long this streak will last!
