How often should you rotate the tires on your Subaru? Subaru recommends that you rotate your tires every 7,500 miles. That's roughly the same time that you would want to get your oil changed if you use synthetic motor oil. So that's typically a good reminder for rotating our tires. If you get your oil changed, see if you need to get your tires rotated.

Of course, 7,500 miles is just guideline recommendation. How often you drive, the conditions you drive in, the way that you drive, and the roads that you drive on are all factors that could require you to rotate your tires sooner than the recommended mileage. If you fly down dirt roads at 50 miles per hour making nothing but right turns, you will need to rotate your tires much sooner than 7,500 miles.

Why is it important to rotate your tires, anyway? Rotating your tires ensure that all four of your tires wear evenly. This increases the lifespan of your tires and the fuel efficiency of your vehicle, but it can also help prevent serious mechanical problems. When you don't rotate your tires, the tread on each tire wears down unevenly. This can cause problems for any type of vehicle, but it can be especially bad for Subarus.

Since Subaru vehicles come standard with Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, balancing and rotating your tires is extremely important. Having tires that are in different shapes, or in different conditions, can damage your vehicle's powertrain. Using tires that are'’t uniform can also reduce the vehicle’s controllability and the ability to stop or brake, which leads to an increased risk of accidents.

So be sure to get your tires rotated at least every 7,500 miles, but be mindful of how you drive and the conditions you drive in. You may need to get your tires rotated much sooner than the recommended 7,500 miles. Contact our service department today to schedule an appointment!
