Subarus are made in America every day. You can support American jobs and manufacturing by purchasing a Subaru Outback, Legacy, or Tribeca. Starting next year, you'll be able to buy an American-made Legacy Outback and in 2016 an American-made Impreza. If buying American is a priority to you, you'd like to know that Subaru just finished their 4,000,000th vehicle made in the US.
In 1989, Subaru
started making vehicles at their Lafayette, Indiana factory and the first
Subaru off the line was a first generation Legacy, shown here in the photo
above. The 4 millionth vehicle made was the 2014 Outback crossover.
Three and a half years from now the 5, millionth vehicle will roll off
the line and who knows what it will look like?
Subaru's Lafayette
plant is revolutionary because it's a zero-landfill plant and has a special
relationship with the area surrounding it, creating ecological landscape for
wildlife instead of destroying it as so many other manufacturing plants in
the past have. In May of this year, Subaru also announced they'll be adding 900
more jobs and investing $400 million in the plant to increase production,
creating an overall 9,000 new jobs
for the area. Currently there are 3,600 people working
at the plant.
If one of your
priorities is to purchase from companies that are doing good in the communities
they impact and keeping your money in the United States, come in for a test
drive to see what an American-made Subaru feels like on the road.
