Subaru's rally team won the 100 Acre Wood rally race at the end of February near Steelville, Missouri. In the Ozark Mountains, Subaru's David Higgins dominated the competition, now leading the 2013 Rally America Championship standings with 39 points, followed by Canada's Antoine L'Estage, with only 23 points. Higgins was one of the only top performers to even finish the race, L'Estrage having to bow out due to overheating issues and other cars calling it quits after substantial damage.

Overall, Higgins finished for Subaru Rally Team USA 9 minutes before anyone else, which in racing is quite the lead. Normal finish times are as close as a few seconds. Higgins owes his lead in part to his Subaru STI that's been worked on by the best in the business to make it the perfect rally car. Subarus are born and breed on the rally track and it's no surprise that the number three finisher was also driving a Subaru. Two out of three in one of the toughest rally races in the world is impressive performance from Subaru.

If you'd like to see highlights from the rally, you can check out coverage at Subaru.com. When watching this video, you'll noticed that the Subaru STI handles corners impeccably with very little over or under steer, even when going around wet or sandy corners. All of this is due to the Subaru AWD system that's unrivaled in the industry. Other rally cars don't handle corners with this much grace and poise.

The best part of Subaru succeeding in rally races is that you have the same technology under the hood in a conventional Subaru-just minus some high performance add ons and roll-cages-and any innovative things they figure out on the track end up in Subarus on the road everywhere.
