It's been a year since Edmunds.com got ahold of a 2012
Impreza and the
results are in. Edmunds' reviewers think the 2012 Subaru Impreza is "an excellent choice for a budget-minded buyer looking for an all-weather
hatchback." The 2013 Impreza is
an improvement on the 2012 but most of the major features are the same -- so you can get a year newer Subaru and get a better deal on a great car.
The 2013 Subaru Impreza's changes from the 2012 model are minor
because the Impreza was completely redesigned for 2012. You'll have a wider selection of trim options for the 2013. All base models have Bluetooth hands free
capabilities in the 2013 model as well as audio controls for iPods and iPhones
and an audio jack for input. Audio controls are also mounted on the steering
wheel as a standard feature to allow the driver to change audio settings
without having to take attention off the road. As well as audio
enhancements for a safer driving experience, the Premium models have leather
wrapped steering wheels and shifter knobs for both the sedan and hatchback
models of the 2013 Impreza.
Edmunds' testers also noted that the 2012 Impreza was
designed with ease of maintenance in mind, allowing oil changes and filter
changes to be done quickly with easy access to maintenance areas under the
hood. If you're looking to save a few dollars on maintenance by doing it yourself,
the Impreza is well-labeled and accessible.
The reviewers also loved the comfort of the driver's seat, which makes it a
comfortable car for daily commuting back and forth to work as well as for long road trips. And with the AWD,
test drivers found it took corners well and kept them safe in all kinds of
conditions.
Overall, the 2013 Impreza is a great car for commuters,
families, and for new drivers -- a safe and affordable car that
lasts.
